UZA is a Theatrical group and we do so much with it in all that we do. We love the theater and love teaching others about it. We do acting classes on many things about theater and just some of them are on improv, acting, character building, costuming as well as many more. Learning drama, aka theater, can help you in so many ways, such as developing your communication skills, breaking out of being shy, learning to use your voice, posture and movement, and so on. There are so many different aspects to theater including lighting, tech, acting, makeup, props, costumes, singing, dancing, decorating, writing, speaking, and directing and more.
Teaching the youth (and the "older" youth too) is one of our most favorite things to do because it can benefit them in so many ways. We really love teaching improv because it is fun and can help you in many ways. Haunted House acting is another type of theater we have learned and mastered. It is not as easy as it looks because, there is so much to a haunted house and becoming one with your area and being able to do multiple areas as well, and we love teaching and talking about it with others. We have done classes/workshops/panels on all you need to know about haunted houses and even behind the "screams" (scenes). We like to teach the youth and anyone who is interested in working or volunteering at a haunted house the do's and don'ts and safety factors to be aware of and even about the industry in general and to be careful to not be taken advantage of if you do work for a haunted house. There are a lot of young people that go into haunts and do get mistreated and they do not even know it or what to look for and be aware of to avoid it from happening to them or to at least know about it and accept it if they are unable to or unwilling to change it.
We can teach you how to be scary and all the types of scares but remember we are NOT just a "horror" group because we do so much more then just that. Some of our core members have been in theater, drama, technical theater, and have teaching backgrounds and years of experience.
We are an organized, professional, performing group. We enjoy being Zombies but we can and have done several other characters as well for many things. We not only act, but we have done many other types of services while we work with and for others. A few of us have been doing this type of service and employment for many decades now. Our skills and experiences are varied to say the least. We are also more importantly a “family friendly” and “appropriate for all ages” group. We know that “Families that SCARE together STAY together!”
UZA is a professional group of professionals and we aim for excellence and have a strong work ethic. Our family’s initial, core group was trained by professionals from Universal Studios, Disney, Rocky Point’s Haunted House, The Haunting Haunted House, Thirteenth Floor, House of Torment, Jack and Jill's Haunted Hill, and Rob Zombies Great American Nightmare. Some of us have been trained by certain professionals with these groups and have even been trained on how to train others to perform. We have had theatrical training and we have acting backgrounds and we love our work and want to help others love it too; while sharing what we know to help others learn to find and develop their best self to also share with those they interact with. We are NOT a Zombie Only Business.
